The Nashville Aviators are set to kick off the 2025-2026 Maximum Basketball League (MBL) season with a highly anticipated home opener against the ATL Takeover, a semi-pro team based in Atlanta, GA. This matchup marks a significant moment for both franchises as they aim to establish dominance in the MBL’s Southeast Division.  This is the first season for the new Aviators team based in Nashville, TN. The team is coached by Kyle King, who has led a different MBL team to the playoffs.  This is a new venture for the management team of Wolfcat Athletics, a sports production and management company also based in Nashville, TN.

Both teams are expected to feature emerging and experienced talents seeking exposure to higher leagues, aligning with the MBL’s mission to bridge gaps between semi-pro and professional basketball.

The Aviators vs. Takeover opener promises to be a milestone for the MBL, highlighting the league’s expansion and commitment to community-driven sports. As both teams prepare for tip-off, fans can expect a high-energy clash that sets the tone for the season ahead. 

The Maximum Basketball League (formerly Midwest Basketball League) has expanded to 45 teams across the U.S., with divisions ranging from Central to Southeast. The league provides a platform for aspiring professional players, emphasizing regional rivalries and grassroots engagement.
